About The Author

Although the author grew up in the Appalachian mountains, his world expanded to include the world. He lived and worked in Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand for over three decades. His academic background and expertise in intercultural leadership took him to over a hundred countries. He and his wife raised two daughters internationally. 

 

His writing is informed by rich life experiences and familiarity with such diverse arenas as Marine tactics, intelligence gathering, Christian mission engagement, university instruction, nuclear medicine, scuba diving instruction and private investigation. He has trekked in the Himalayas, run marathons, designed several non-formal training programs and done battle with numerous basal cell carcinomas.

 

These days you will probably find him leading a group toward deeper spiritual growth, working on a project with his grandchildren, riding his motorcycle, or playing on a golf course in Virginia, where he recently shot his age.
